Mon Coeur Resort! (Part Two)

Please read part one below to see the beginning half of my trip to Mon Coeur Resort in Taichung, Taiwan!

After lunch, we continued into the resort. Here is part two of my trip. Hope you enjoy!

An adorable little dome shaped candy shop! This got me excited :)

A ton of candy piled on crates. Amazing and obviously delicious snelling.

Yep. I was not kidding. A LOT of candy!

My mom took this picture and told me to post it. As you can tell, this morning I was wearing my black H&M cardigan. I have now been reduced to this :)

Next door was a shop selling things made entirely of paper. Even the seats were made of cardboard!

See? I was not kidding! They're pretty comfy too. I'm sitting on the loveseat typing this post on my iPhone.

A cardboard hat! This is an engenious act of inventing!

A hole wall dedicated to fine crafted paper stickers.

Probably my favorite one out of hundreds. The perfume bottle sticker is to die for.

Of course I had to get a shot with a paper soccer ball!

There was then a clockstore next to the paper store. Love the clock outside!

They also sold hand crafted music boxes such as this one. I really liked the song it played ("Sky Castle" from some Japanese movie).

There was also a DIY music box station. These are tiny parts you can put in to design your own.

Someone designed this one! Amazingly cute, eh?

The central square. Reminds me of the fountain/piazzo that Bella runs through to find Edward with the Volturi.

Oh, the wonderul afternoon sun. Isn't spring break great?

My mom took this picture while I was smiling away on the steps of the square. The weather reminds me of my home in southern California...

Well that pretty much closes off my trip to Mon Coeur Resort. Now I'm heading to downtown Taichung!

See you all later,

Mon Coeur Resort! (Part One)

here are a few photos of the golf resort I'm currently at:

On the mountain up to the resort. Lots of palm trees and sun. The perfect spring break weather!

A small sign directing us to the resort! Again, it's pretty far up in the mountains.

A shaky shot of the golf course... It's huge!

The enterance of the resort. The English name is "Mon Coeur". As I mentioned already, it's pretty darn hot!

Shady pathway to the main area of the resort. There are tons of lavender springs and bees here!

Adorable ticketing booth. That's my mom and grandma blocking the shot, hiding in the shade, as usual.

Gorgeous lavender!! They smell amazing, sort of reminds me of L'Occitane...

The restaurant we're dining at. It's almost packed full, but thankfully we have a seat (even though it's outdoors, in the 90+ degree heat)

There's a store inside the place, and they're selling these adorable wooden animals for 380 NT (12 US Dollars) a piece! I love the penguin!

The waiting area. Loving the blue walls and bird house.

The kitchen! The staff here are all wearing navy and white striped tees and cute red scarves.

First course was cream of vegetable with a dinner roll/bun thing. There's a smidgen of olive oil in the bread dish :) Sort of wondering, though, why I'm drinking hot soup in such hot weather...

Second (Main) course is a beef, curry, and vegetable pasta. Smells delicious! It's a huge portion, though.

Final fourth course was some sort of rolled chocolate cake. Pretty good as for my standards.

Iced fruit tea!! Amazing stuff, right here!

Next to the restaurant is an adorable organic soap and body store. They carry an assortment of soaps, like the ones here.

Of course, they carry sprigs of lavender (dried, in this case) for only 50 NT (1.50ish US Dollars) for a bunch.

This product was pretty unique! The purple tubes are tea and the yellow ones in the back are cookies. They are all lavender flavored... which doesn't really incline me to buy them :\

Outside on the patio is a tiny herb garden. Really adorable.

And of course, an assortment of lavender-infused bath salts. For a small glass, you can choose three colors (for 150 NT=4 US Dollars)

Assorted stamps on sale. Need to pick up a few of these!

Lots of colorful house shaped mailboxes all around the resort. I love the one on the far right.

Okay, that's it for part one! Stay tuned for part two soon!

Outfit of the Day: Breezy Tie-Die

I'll admit, I've been in such the mood to blog ever since I downloaded the BlogPress app for my iPhone. It's fast, easy, and a superb deal for people who love to blog as a hobby.

On a finer note, I'm going to do a quick outfit of the day special just for this week :)

Seeing that I'm one day off (it's Tuesday in Taiwan), I will only have 6 OOTD.

DRESS: Blue Tie-Die with a Shirred Top...I don't usually wear skirts or dresses to school, so I like to excersise my freedom on breaks (spring break, in this case) Paired with a black schoolboy cardigan from H&M.

SHOES: Gladiators from God-knows-what brand...I've always wanted a pair of gladiators, but didn't want to splurge on a pair. Considencely, I was shopping in Kaohsiung and came across these cheapie ones for approximately 8 US Dollars. Crazy, I know!

BAG: A Nice Bronzey Tote from Coach... Oh gosh it's sort of embarassing. This bag is about 4 years old and BARELY gets any sunlight, so I decided to bring it on my trip. Matches nicely with my gladiators, though.

Have a wonderful day, and see you next blog post!

Magazine Highlights of the Month (March)

hello everyone,

I've devised a monthly column that I will update at the closing of each month. Instead of monthly favorites (beauty, fashion, etc.) I will be documenting highlights in magazines. Here we go!

TEEN VOGUE (April '10): Miley Cyrus

(*Sorry to dissapoint those Miley Cyrus fans out there, but she did NOT deserve that cover, nor, in my personal opinion, does she deserve half of what she gets in general. I don't want to turn this blog into a place for harsh critique, so I'm just stating this at the beginning. Okay!)

1. Zac Posen for Target: FTW! Posen for less than $100? Amazing! A tux for prom? Even more spectacular!

2. Jennifer Huang and Winning a CFDA Scholarship: Shes young (17 years old) she's Taiwanese-American (so am I *wink wink*) and she's full of talent.

LUCKY (April '10): Jessica Szohr

1. The Cover: Jessica Szohr is so down to earth, seriously, she's amazing. Haven't seen her grace the covers of a magazine solo before, so I was sure to snag this issue.

2. Pixie Lott-based Clothing: I love Pixie Lott (almost as much as I love La Roux), so when I saw this I was glad to know that she had FINALLY been acknowledged in an American editorial.

SEVENTEEN (April '10): Nina Dobrev

(* I don't watch Vamprie Diaries AT ALL, nor do I enjoy the fact that tons of TV shows, books, movies etc. are minipulating vampire-themes.)

1. La Roux Glasses: I have to admit I was pretty impressed that Seventeen had the taste to put these in (no offense, mostly Seventeen only features wayfarers and aviators... or whatever teens enjoy these days). I feel so inclined to buy them! La Roux wore something like these in her Rolling Stones interview.

2. Street Style Editorial: FINALLY Seventeen gets real style off the streets...can't say that I liked the "17 Way" they interrpreted these looks, but the "street way" photos are actually quite... cool.

That's all the magazines I purchased this month! This post turned into a rather "bash-n-mash" of Seventeen and Miley Cyrus, but ehhh.

Let's just say I have an acquired taste ;)

A Quick Hello

hello everyone,

I'm posting this blog post on a new iPhone program, BlogPress, so please bear with me if the formatting is gone a bit awry.

I set off from Taipei down south, and I am currently at my grandmas house in Taichung City. Here is a picture of the high speed train/bullet train sign:

On the first day, we went to Kaohsiung, a city an hour of off Taichung. There, we met up with old accquaintences and did A LOT of shopping. I managed to pick these three things up:

1. High Waisted Gray Tulle Skirt: I love these types of things and just can't seem to get enough :)

2. Steve Madden Sandals: These were actually 75% off and they only had one pair of my (7.5) left, so that was a steal.

3. Navy Peace Bracelet: I really want to pick up a couple more of these in other colors.

Now for two Lancome quads. Didn't actually plan on getting these, but my mom's friend had them and gave them to me:

The first one looks like this:

Colors (clockwise): Pètale, Crème Lustre, Honeymoon, Noix....I'm not really the makeup type (and this is relativaley the makeup blog) but I do have to say these colors are gorgeous.

The second one looks like this:

Colors (clockwise): Crème Lustre (again?!), Mauve Lustre, Rose Ancien, Ciel du Soir...Evidently, that Crème Lustre color is a staple in these Lancome quads!

Alright, that's it for now!

Girl.

Hello kind interwebs,

It's March 18th, 2010, and yesterday, on an oh-so-dreary Taipei mid morning, I presented this video that I home grew myself for my entire English class to see. So... I guess this could be classified as an English project :)

The short film is based on the lovely Lisa Zaran's poem "Girl", which is amazingly poetic (but of course, *smile*) and instantaneously infectious.

We need more poets and poems alike to be this witty and amazing.

The video is narrated by me and stars my friend Lily.

Enjoy!
