Nail Polish Binge.

These are a few of the polishes I got over the course of the past two week. Love them all and GET THEM FAST! Two are limited edition, one is already discontinued, and the other two are just plain awesome (and I'm guessing they'll sell out pretty fast?)

1. Ruby Pumps (China Glaze), 2. For Audrey (China Glaze), 3. Call Your Mother (Sephora by OPI), 4. $$$$ Yes (MAC), 5. Coral (Victoria Secret Pink)

1. Ruby Pumps (China Glaze): Love this polish... perhaps I own a few too many shades like this (like OPI's Rosey Misle-tosies and the caliber) I love the name, it makes me think of Ruby Slippers and I think this is an iconic color of China Glaze? Beats me... however a downside is that China Glaze polishes smell terrible (like chemical terrible) so if you can't cope with that... please don't waste your money (as this color is terribley replicable by many other, better quality brands).

2. For Audrey (China Glaze): This color was the color of the summer for me, but I didn't want to spend so much money on that gorgeous Chanel one. When I first saw this polish, it struck me that it was the same color as my walls at home in Taipei. It also struck me that this is the exact same color as a Tiffany&Co. box (DUH. The name is "For Audrey"... like Audrey Hepburn? Breakfast at Tiffany's ring a bell?) Lovely color, although I do think that this is a limited edition from China Glaze. Got it from the Clearance Rack over at my local Sally Beauty Supply Store! So happy to have picked it up before it was rolled clean out of store shelves (Also, ULTA no longer carries this polish, I asked today when I was there).

3. Call Your Mother (Sephora by OPI): Cool brown tones have been a large portion of my nail colors recentley... maybe it's the thought that summer this year in Los Angeles hasn't been all that hot (save the corals and reds!) However, Sephora by OPI makes stunning, and ever so slightly random and exhuberent, colors, so it would be rather so wise to pick some up? The forumla is exactly similar to thus of regular OPI polishes, but at 50 cents less (and as the saver that I am), these polishes are a sure done deal.

4. $$$$$ Yes (MAC): This polish was from the Holiday 2009 MAC Collection (Magic, Mirth, and Mischief). I was in a bit of a financial stint at the time (it was the holidays! sales at every store!) so I didn't get $$$$$ Yes while it was out at MAC counters. To my great excitement, the polish was ready, waiting for me, at the Las Vegas Cosmetics Company Outlet! And it was only $7.75! A pure silver color, $$$$$ Yes is going to be one of my new favorites.

5. Coral (Victoria Secret Pink): Best coral color ever! A true summer color, and since I wear red ALL the time (on toes and fingers), this red was a change from my typical Revlon Red. The top also has some random nail gems, which is also pretty cute. Also, the polish was only $1.75 after a 75% reduction at the VS Semi-Annual Sale! Incredible deal!

Have a great week!

Summer Update (WARNING: Word Heavy!)

Hello hello hello :)

Wow, its been two complete, non blogging weeks, and I've got to say... it sort of hurts! Anyways, here's a quick (actually now that I've read over the post, not really) overview of what I've been doing:

1. I went to Las Vegas! It was beautiful and so so SO amazingly lovely. Seeing that I haven't been in about two years (a.k.a the two years that I've since moved to Taipei), it was nice to see the change in hotels. I mean, two have sprung up (Aria and Vdara of City Center Resorts and Casinos) and numerous restaurants and buffets as well. My favorite part was definetly Miracle Miles Shopping Center right under our hotel, Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino. There were tons of shops and restaurants and sights and sounds and... I think you all get the point. The second night I was there I watched LOVE: By Cirque du Soliel, which was at the Mirage Hotel and Casino. Perhaps the most creative and invigorating show in the entire world, the fusion of Beatles songs and classic Cirque wonder. My second time watching the show, I totally felt vibes that I didn't even feel the first time watching it. That's got to be a sign!! Also, the Chelsea Premium Outlets just 10 minutes off the Strip was DROP DEAD SHOPPING HEAVEN. There was also a Cosmetics Company Outlet which I have never been to, so that was superbly interesting. Picked up two items there (two MAC nail polishes: $$$$ Yes from the 2009 Winter Collection and Vestral White from the Hello Kitty Collection. Photos up soon, yes?)

2. I visited old friends (and maybe even sparked a summer romance? just kidding, but I totally wish) Seeing everyone brought back intense memories and an equal amount of melancholy tears. Some of these people I haven't even seen in... say two years as well? It was such a bittersweet reunion.

3. I have found many new favorites (both fashion-wise, cosmetics, and places to see). Here's a list of the things that I've been obsessing over this week and a half:

  • Tresemme Fresh Start Dry Shampoo (For Oily/Straight to Normal Hair): Leaves a weirdish white film but after combed out, it left super awesome shiny hair! Now I don't have to strip my hair and wash it every day? Yes ma'am :)
  • L.A. Colours Art Deco Nail Art Lacquer: Got this in the 75% off clearence at Forvever 21. Saw it in JulieG's YouTube video for one of her nail art tutorials. The purple one that I got made for a great plaid pattern nail design (paired over a backdrop of MAC's Vestral White polish)
  • Forever 21 + Danny Roberts Line: I love Danny Roberts SO much it's crazy, so when I saw that he was pairing up to do a line for Forever 21, I sort of went a little estatic (ask my mom, she said I jumped up and down when I saw the racks of tees and tanks for the line... thanks mom :\) Got a tank and a v-neck tee that were....*gulp*... $15 dollars each. But it was TOTALLY well worth it.
  • Soap and Glory's Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Gloss: It's so unfair to put this in this post since I don't usually talk beauty AT ALL (nail polish does NOT count)... but this lip gloss is totally to great to keep out of any of my blog posts. It's a clear gloss that plumps lips like CRAZY. No joke! The packaging is cheeky, reminscent of Benefit products, and the product is amazingly good. For only $9.99 at Target, the Soap and Glory line is lovely and an invigorating change from typical drugstore products.
  • The Grove, Los Angeles: Okay, it's sort of not fair to put this in since I've been going to the Grove since I was around 4 or 5, but this place is by far the best spot in Los Angeles, or actually, in the whole entire world. The place is old-American (think late 1940's for those of you who haven't been) with strings of lights and canas tents. There's also a Farmer's Market out in the back that has amazing Greek food. I reccomend going to the Grove no matter what age, where you live (wether it's your first time in Los Angeles or you're a local) the Grove is the best way to spend a summer evening, since it's so breezy. And the sunset is to die for! And they have a Zara! And a double decker bus that runs through it!

OKAY this post is WAYYY too long, but I sincerely apologize for the lack of posts... I've also come to notice that my blog posts have been discovered by other lovely bloggers. So follow Pretty Little Things if you enjoy my blogging and posts, and of course: leave comments! (Because I'm a sucker for comments and replying them ;D)

Love you all, and look forward to talking to you soon!

Summer!

Hello everyone,

I haven't done a word-heavy post in a while, so here I am to hopefully (not) bore you. I'm currently on summer vacation, and goodness me! I've gained so much free time (hopefully that means more blog posts?) Anyways, I just wanted to debrief my summer plans for all of you, so you'll know when I will and won't be posting.

Yesterday (June 8th), I went to a Jean Paul Gaultier exhibit at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum. It was amazing and very invigorating, hopefully some photos of that will be up sometime today or tomorrow.

Tomorrow, (June 10th), I will be flying from Taipei to Los Angeles! I've been waiting for ages and ages to go back to my hometown. The first few days I will be shopping and perhaps blogging a little bit.

However, next Monday-Wednesday, I will be in Las Vegas, Nevada... so that probably means I will be occupied with shopping/site seeing/walking around/swimming in the pool/watching shows so... maybe no blog posts? I'm not really sure yet.

I will be in the states (west coast in particular), for a little over a month! So I'm sorry for the loss of blog posts over this summer. However, I am destined to have the summer of my life...

Also wanted to share my summer playlist with you all. Here it is:

Rock That Body-
Black Eyed Peas
New Perspective- Panic! At the Disco
1234-Feist
Kiss With a Fist- Florence + the Machine
Gatekeeper- Feist
Alive-Montedek
Your Body is a Wonderland-John Mayer
...AND A WHOLE LOT MORE!

I won some snazzy Audio Technica Headphones from a school party, so I'm guessing my plane rides won't be that boring anymore :)

Alright, well I hope all of you have the summer of your lives... and I hope to be posting some more in the next few weeks!

Cheap NYX!

Went to Watsons today just to check things out and browse around, when I came across their "15% off all cosmetics" sale. Seeing that I always wanted to try out NYX, I went over to their little stand, and guess what I found?

A NYX bronzer! 70% off!

Yep, I was a little skeptical at first, so I approached one of the staff members and they cleared it up by saying "actually, it's 90%..."

Gosh, it felt like they were giving it to me for free.

If you know me (actually, know me REALLY well) you'll know that I've prided being pale, but since summer is coming around, I thought "Well, this is a real steal, this bronzer is really pretty, you should look tan during the summer... etc etc"

So I went ahead and got it...

There were two other colors: a light and a dark. I opted for medium, since light was... too light (and dark was too dark and unaturally tan ;D)

Here's the receipt for the bronzer... if you don't seriously believe me. The original price, 980 NT, was deducted by 882 NT, which ended up at 98 NT. But then, the 15% sale was also applied, and the final grand total was... 83 NT (around $2.70 US Dollars). By the way, the bronzer retails for $15 US dollars.

NYX polishes were also on special deal, so being the nail polish fanatic that I am, I got one.

This color is called Juliette (which is SO ironic, since I watched Letters to Juliet after that)

Maybe a new summer favorite? I don't know yet, but it's REALLY pretty!

Play on Words.

Awesome tee that from Shi Lin Night Market. They always seem to have the most awkwardly cool things.
